When non-Floridians think of Miami, the first couple factors that come to mind are the skyline, the beaches, and the wild nightlife. All of which are NOT fabrications; although, we've all heard of these slightly distorted tales of Spring Break in Miami Beach, reckless nights at the prestigious clubs and lounges, Champagne and luxury stores on every street corner. Well, I hate to burst any bubbles however I believe that at least 70% is glamorized to portray Miami as such, the other percentage is the reality in which Miami holds residents that live ordinary day to day lives.
Miami, with a population of over 5.5 million, is composed of several different prominent zones such as Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Miami Beach, Little Havana, and many more. With a climate never reaching below 20°C (60°F), this Metropolitan city meets the likes of people who crave a Tropical getaway but can't fight the urge to escape the city-life hustle & bustle. Miami has a pretty upscale reputation, according to Forbes list of wealthiest cities, Miami came in as #1 in America. Yet on the contrary, Miami has a relatively alternative element that's set in various locations such as the Wynwood Art District and Design District which are primarily art galleries and high end boutiques, but happen to host some of the most profound and internationally recognized events. Some areas vary in value and status, here are a few locations and their famous hot spots that I believe you can't miss out on.
1. Brickell
Glistening with skyscrapers, business towers, a bay-front, and restaurants to last eternity...residents refer to this area as the "Financial District" of Miami due to its highly recognized Banking industry flooding the Streets (and sky).

Brickell City Centre:
A luxury shopping development worth over $1.05 billion has people dazed with awe over the overall architectural design, not to overrule the designer boutiques such as Agent Provocateur and Bally, restaurants of all cuisines, cafes, etc. This "Mall" isn't your everyday commercial center, it covers nearly three city blocks and reaches a 5 story height. Another fascinating aspect is that there are three high rises connected to the center which hold both residential and short term rentals.
2. Wynwood
Wynwood is truly one-of-a-kind...it introduces you with outdoor murals (by some of the most renown street artists) spray painted amongst each and every building. Modern and graphic art literally take ownership of this downtown area which holds a large quantity of art galleries. This area of Miami is known for its annual art "festival" show, Art Basel, where people from all over the world come to celebrate and gain recognition with established and non-established artists. An opportunity to gain profit for people in the art world, yet also to have fun and meet people; Miami hosts hundreds of events for this Art Fair.

3. South Beach
Due to film's and TV series, most are under the impression that its all party, bikinis, and cocktails in South Beach. While part of that is true, there are plenty of places to explore all over the beach besides Ocean Drive and LIV nightclub. Venture away from the tourist traps and you may end up seeing more beauty from this notorious end of town.
